BlockPI 2022 Recap
The journey of BlockPI Network starts from 2021 when we experienced certain serious RPC issues. While solving those issues ourselves, as a sophisticated blockchain user and developer, we figured maybe there is more we can do about it. Based on our deep understanding of blockchain infrastructure, we started to work on designing a special network structure that could not only solve the existing RPC problems, but could really benefit the web3 developers in the long run. After carefully studying and researching, we designed an RPC with a distributed network structure, which is the MVP (minimum viable product) of BlockPI Network. It won us the 2nd place prize in the Near MetaBUIDL Global Hackathon.
Later, we started to provide public RPC for everyone based on the first version of BlockPI. With continuous optimization, we successfully upgraded our public RPC earlier this month to offer more stable and faster free RPC service for everyone. Get an endpoint here.
Born in and grew with the web3 community, we are so glad that our ideas were supported by some well-known VCs in the industry. With their backups, we successfully closed our seed round funding at $3 million on the exact day a year ago.
We strongly believe the network structure is the foundation of realizing the lowest latency and the best performance under the same hardware condition. Therefore, from day one, our team of experts has set out to polish our network structure to be as more sustainable and scalable as possible. Through tireless efforts and dedication, we succeeded in optimizing the algorithms of our Gateways and Hypernodes, while adding new features and functionalities.
BlockPI testnet #1
On June 20th of 2022, the BlockPI testnet phase one was officially launched and was operated for 3 months until September 30th of 2022, during which we invited more than 4200 third party node operators to join the BlockPI network and test it. We were thrilled to see positive results coming from different parties all over the world.

Innovative pricing
Based on our testnet results, we further optimized the network architecture and algorithm, as well as adjusted the payment system to be more developer-friendly and flexible, such as we added Pay As You Go and a longer usage validity. Read more.
BlockPI Alpha-net
After a series of redesign and continuous polishing, we launched the BlockPI Alpha-net on October 25th of 2022 when we were confident it is ready to revolutionize the blockchain infrastructure field. It is the commercial version of BlockPI for the production environment.
We now successfully support 15 different blockchains, including a heterogeneous blockchain, Aptos, which uses REST API instead of JSON-RPC. And more chains are on the way, including more heterogeneous options. Let us know which chain you would like us to support, and we will see what we can do for you.
Startup Program
As a Web3 native infrastructure builder, we believe in the power of community and are eager to grow together with the community. Therefore, we decided to launch a Web3 Startup Program to help Web3 startups grow! This program offers up to $1000 credits to startup projects, and the credits are redeemable for any package of BlockPI API service. With our support, the developers then can have all their energy and creativity on their projects, without worrying about any infrastructure problems. Apply now.
Public blockchain partnership
Klaytn We received support from the Klaytn Growth Foundation in the form of grants in very early stage, so Klaytn is the first chain we supported. We are always willing to support the Klaytn ecosystem. Therefore, we sponsored Klaymakers22, Klaytn’s flagship global virtual hackathon for Web3, Metaverse and DAO developers as their Community Partner.
Polygon
We are honored to partner with some of the best Web3 service providers in Polygon Village to help build and scale Polygon projects. The value of BlockPI Welcome Voucher is up to $1000, redeemable for any packages of BlockPI RPC service. Projects can faster build and scale their solutions via our high-performance and global-distributed RPC service on Polygon.
Community events
We have successfully held a number of community events in the past year, testnet OAT, Thanksgiving, MEME contest, Christmas, Spring Festival etc.
There are already some DApps using our service, some of them are the big names in the industry. We don’t want to spoil the surprises here, please follow us for the announcements.
What to expect next?
The launch of BlockPI Testnet#2 is set on the calendar this year. Spoiler alert, you will see us supporting some heterogeneous chains in this phase. So, stay tuned for more information about BlockPI Testnet #2.
2023 is certainly the year of more possibilities, we will push ourselves to buidl more and to achieve even better results. We will strive to make some revolutionary updates. Likewise, we will focus on creating solutions to existing problems and looking for ways to improve existing systems. We will also actively explore new methods to improve stability and performance of our RPCs. We believe, with our hard work and dedication, the next version of BlockPI Network will be even better.
