BlockPI Testnet #1 Recap-1
It has been almost a month since we announced the news of BlockPI testnet launch. Let’s take a moment and discuss the growth of the BlockPI community.
The BlockPI testnet has made higher achievements than we expected. In the first two weeks of the incentive testnet, the BlockPI network has successfully achieved a globally distributed deployment of the network. BlockPI HyperNodes are quite diversified in both operator and geography. They are run by builders from multiple countries and located in multiple continents and regions.
Delighted to say that the BlockPI have achieved the first milestone of partnership with Klaytn Growth Foundation. Currently, the BlockPI network has become the largest decentralized RPC service provider on the Klaytn Mainnet.
We have received 4200+ applications from node operators all over the world. The BlockPI team have gone through every application and selected qualified node operators based on their GitHub stars, website information and contribution to other networks etc.
If you have submitted your application and did not receive our invitation, the reason may be that another node operator submitted an application with similar qualifications earlier than you. There are more opportunities to join the BlockPI network, so stay tuned!
Eventually, there are 70+ excellent node operators who joined the BlockPI incentivized testnet as HyperNode and contributed to the network. We held two HyperNode onboarding calls and dozens of one-on-one intro calls with node operators to deliver more details about BlockPI and answer their questions.
During this period, a decent version update of BlockPI HyperNode was released, which improved the performance of HyperNode. In addition, we released a series of test tasks for all HyperNodes and received positive feedback from participants. We would like to thank all HyperNodes for their contributions as well!
There are 201 tasks submitted and earned credits for node operators in the last fortnight. More testnet tasks which help us improve the performance are coming, such as stress testing, performance testing, stability testing, etc. We are planning the second chain, which will be integrated in later stage of BlockPI testnet#1.
Meanwhile, we are inspired by the enthusiasm of the community and held an OAT Campaign for community members on Project Galaxy to mark the launch of the BlockPI testnet.5462 OATs were claimed by the active community members.
Furthermore, we’d like to thank the following builders, who shared their experience and wrote the tutorials for the community.
Andots: Node monitoring (prometheus+grafana) for ubuntu
Blockscope: BlockPI HyperNode — setting up monitoring (w/ Grafana and Prometheus)
BloClick: Setting up a Grafana based monitor for your Hypernode node
DNLab: How to monitor the service in BlockPI Testnet
Lateful: Мониторинг сервера, HyperNode и Klaytn; Server monitoring, HyperNode and Klaytn
Shinx: Github
Terminet: Github
Validatrium: GitHub
Wetez: Klaytn-monitor
This is the time for all of us to focus on building. Our aim is bringing a robust, scalable, and high performance to all web3 developers. The BlockPI community is the key to achieve that. Thank you all.
